The story of Wild Child begins in 1974 in Marseille, where, like Iggy Pop, Jim Lemoine, who was already a painter, started playing drums. Jim quickly moved on to singing and after meeting guitarist Leeroy Stanner he founded the band Wild Child, the first and only French band to claim the Stoogian label.
The band moved to Paris and in 1981 recorded a single 'stooge face' which was named record of the month by Philippe Manœuvre, then a rock and folk journalist. In 1982, they released the powerful Speed Life O'Mind EP, which was named one of the 100 most important records of French rock.
A first and...last album followed in 1982, "Death Trip", and a successful French tour in 1982 and 1983.
However, the band decided to split in 1985 after recording the tapes for a new album "next decline" which was not released at the time.
In 2015, 30 years after the band split up, this unreleased album is finally pressed and thanks to the label Celluloid, it is finally published on CD with the tapes of the first singles and EPs.
However, the Celluloid label having since closed down, this CD and death trip were no longer distributed.
It is therefore Twisted Soul Records that has taken up the torch and is putting back on the circuit, with the precious help of Dom Disques, these two albums of a band that will undeniably have left its mark on French rock.
