Release Date: 1976Label: LSI Records
This is the first release by Wildcountry, later to be known as the country super group Alabama. “My Sweet Country Woman” is listed with that title on the record label. On the jacket (of the suspected later pressed version - Wildcountry - Wildcountry) however, it is listed as “My Sweet Country Home.” Later compilation releases change the titles of "Flying United" and "Music Moves Me" to "Flying Unlimited" and "Music Moves Me Like a River."This specific copy/pressing is in a plain white outer sleeve with a glossy 8x10" band photo inserted into the shrink wrap with "Joe Taylor (now defunct as Mr Taylor has passed away) Artist Agency... Nashville Tennessee.." I suspect - my specific copy is one which was one of the few which were personally financed by the group out of a $4,000 loan they took out to record and produce some limited copies to sell during the time they were a house band at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach SC. I live in SC and it makes it very possible one of those copies ended up where I live.
From Wikipedia on Alabama:
"The group decided to become professional musicians in 1973, and began performing at bars throughout the Southeast. In March, the band relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, performing six nights a week at a club named The Bowery for tips. They made their best money performing cover songs of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Merle Haggard. The group could not secure a record contract and began to self-finance recordings. The group borrowed $4,000 from a Fort Payne bank to record and release their own albums to sell at shows."
