Love Progression by William Fielder

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1985

Label: Prescription Records

For over a decade, Bill Fielder has been a key jazz and classical trumpet instructor at various universities throughout the country, and he has assisted in the development of such fine talent as Wynton Marsalis, Terrence Blanchard, and fellow Mississippian Mulgrew Miller. In LOVE PROGRESSION Bill makes his recording debut for Prescription Records accompanied by some of his former students. The result is a dynamic exchange ever so present between students and teacher.

Allowing for the "spontaneous improvisation," which remains a most vital element in jazz, LOVE PROGRESSION was recorded without the musicians' prior rehearsal. The recording was completed in a five hour session directly on a MCI two-track recorder at the Van Gelder studio October 1, 1984.

Love Progression is dedicated to Mom and Pop.
