« As the nurturing light of the Sun fades away, life disappears with it on our planet. Humanity, guilty of exhausting the Earth’s resources, is forced to survive in an environment that is now hostile. Wormsand thus depicts the fall of human civilization, playing a Stoner/Sludge with heavy riffs, both hypnotic and destabilizing by their rhythmic paterns. These heavy and fuzzy sounds are blended with calmer parts that bring an ethereal, even psychedelic, atmosphere, establishing a powerful contrast. Thanks to a carefully executed interweaving of these two tones, Wormsand manages to create its proper universe, both wistful and pessimistic about the future of our species. The vocals parallel the opposition instilled by the music with this voice duo each with its very own timbre: on one side, a husky and powerful voice, surly reinforcing the monolithic block developed by the instruments, on the other, an airy and more melodic one, that seems to hover above rhythms which drag to the depths of space. »
