“Shimmers on a Cosmic Tightrope” is the ninth album produced by x1 project. It begins with "Augen Blau", with its deeply sequenced bass and mellotron vocals. "Space Hawker" and "Shimmers on a Cosmic Tightrope" are both old school numbers – with lashings of interwoven sequencing and rich evolving pads. "Stellar Garden" is a bridge to the epic (31 minute) "Deep Drift" - a journey in three unbroken parts. In part I (Total Vacuum) imagine sitting in a craft in deep drift where the only background sounds are the navigational jet bursts. This moves through part II (Micro-Gravity) where small changes in the craft’s gravitation introduce melodic sequencing. Then, part III (Future Glimpses) moves into a more rhythmic state offering a glimpse of our own future (or past).
