100exSelf-recorded at home in Strasbourg during the covid-lockdown of March-May 2020 (with the exception of "Éviter La Merde" from 2018), this album was thought of as a daily musical sketchbook.
It believes in the beauty of spontaneity, experiments, stains, patterns and imperfections...
In this lonely and anxious moment, i tried to call one friend a day, did some stretches, listened lots of music, watched movies, drew some comics, etc... And, most important, i played Super Metroïd (1994) and recorded little chunks of sounds, rythms and lyrics everyday on my 4-track. Trying not to over-analyze it and following the R. Stevie Moore, Gary Panter and Viper-The-Rapper philosophies of raw daily recording/creation and over-dubbing, i saw the songs slowly taking shapes in front of my eyes... Some of them got abandonned, some of them i like more than others, some might end up in another release, and some of them found their way to this album...
Following the tape "End All Toxic Relationship Now!" (2020), this new album also features a wide ranges of emotions, colors and shapes. Taking a temporary distance with the dada-no wave of the live performances, it goes from ambient to rock'n'roll with a lo-fi approach. The subjects evokes open relationships, struggling DIY venues in covid-time, small tributes to The Ex guitarist Andy Moor, actress Zoë Lund, and of course the masterpiece Super Metroïd...
