Zamboa’s debut album “Mirai” marks a decisive departure from the “urban” and “suburban,” rooting itself firmly in a distinctly “rural” sensibility. It shapes the quiet stillness of nature and the subtle sense of “something lying in wait” into musical form.Taking inspiration from This Heat, the band adopted an ambitious approach: since 2019, every rehearsal was recorded in full, capturing everything from soundchecks to casual conversations. This album treats every fleeting, unplanned moment as an essential piece of its musical tapestry.
The shadowy melodies, brought to life by the transparent voice of Ryo Shibuya, blend seamlessly with Takahiro Takeyama’s unique rhythms—a hybrid of Japanese folk traditions and backbeat grooves, existing somewhere between rock and jazz. Together, they create what can only be described as “dance music for the spirit.”
Recording, mixing, and vinyl mastering were handled by Shibuya himself, while the CD and digital mastering were entrusted to Yui Kimijima of Tsubame Studio.

All songs and lyrics are written by Ryo Shibuya. Except for track 5 “大乱闘 (Dairantou)” and track 7 “ひばりの朝(Hibari No Asa)” is written by Ryo Shibuya and Takahiro Takeyama. All songs arranged by Zamboa. Recorded at Studio Shuffle, Studio Penta, Studio U-Be, Studio Reimei, Tsubame Studio, and our homes between February 2019 and September 2024. Recorded, mixed by Ryo Shibuya.
