"eR DoN's full-length Subroutines is the first album I love that is both Jazz and Hiphop. There have been some solid releases (Miles Davis' later work and Toshinori Kondo vs. DJ Krush come to mind) but these earlier albums did not fully integrate the two aesthetic ideals - their "fusion" was incomplete. eR DoN's success lies in the fact that he created his own genre that, although perhaps best described as equal parts Jazz and Hip Hop, is truly its own thing altogether.
