toyboat toyboat toyboat combines the heavy intensity of punk with catchy, quirky melodies reminiscent of the golden years of be-bop, along with rhythms from Brazil and the Balkans. The music is unique but accessible, and always unpredictable.
The instrumentation is unusual, but the results will make you boogie and mosh like any of the classic punk (or funk) heavies. The brainy lyrics and rhythmic twists will appeal to the prog-minded. Yet, the raw sounds are pure indie rock.
The group mixes rock guitar, vocals and drums with the Drum Buddy (a rare light-activated oscillating synthesizer, invented and built by Mr. Quintron) and trumpet, with the latter played both acoustically and electronically through effects.
