Greek label founded in the late '60s by Μάκης Μάτσας, son of Μίνως Μάτσας, for Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε.'s special releases, replacing the Greek branch of Parlophone.
The name "Margophone" was given to the label as a tribute to Makis' mother, whose name was Μαργαρίτα (Margarita).
