Higher Key Records

American independent "private" record label founded around 1973 by Jim Baker aka Father Yod or Ya Ho Wha in Los Angeles, California (USA). The label self-released albums by the spiritual commune Source Family, under names such as Ya Ho Wha 13 or Father Yod And The Spirit Of '76 or Fire, Water, Air.

During a prolific 11 month period between 1973 and 1974, the Family recorded a series of jam sessions worth over 60 full-length albums. Initially 9 self-released limited pressings came out on Higher Key. They were sold exclusively through their store The Hermit Hut, next to their vegetarian restaurant The Source on LA's Sunset Strip near Laurel Canyon.
