Tropico Digital
Also written as "Trópico Digital" and "Discos Tropico Digital".
Independent record label from Mexico, founded in May 1st, 1983, by the brothers José Luis Velázquez and Juan Manuel Velázquez Gómez, with only two releases as official productions under this label.
First production: the album Syntoma - No Me Puedo Controlar, 17-May-83
Second production: the single Syntoma - Lost In Space, 10-January-84
This label was created with the purpose of editing electronic musical projects from Mexico which producers José Luis Velázquez and Juan Manuel Velázquez had given support. At first they worked with Queso Sagrado, nevertheless they did not release any material since after the death of their drummer Luis Rojas Lefort the band left the label. However, one of its musicians, Alex Eisenring, would have an alternate project that would offer to the record label called Syntoma. The label then executive-produced their first album at Rafael Acosta Córdoba's Estudios Rack, with Fernando Montaño as recording engineer and with Alex and Syntoma as producers.
This label aimed at forming a larger organization called Corporación Sintética —honoring Jesus Bojalil Gil, "Capitán Pijama"— which would encompass other labels under the same promoters, the Velazquez brothers, such as Trópico Digital, Discos Rosenbach and others, with the possibility to create a worldwide distribution company.
Unfortunately in 1986 Juan Manuel died, causing the label to fall into a difficult track to overcome. It was until 2017 that José Luis associates with the independent label Terra Morte S.C. to reissue previous works in new formats.
