Talkin' Loud

Talkin’ Loud was founded by DJs Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay in 1990.
The label’s name was based on Peterson’s and Patrick Forge’s Sunday afternoon club session, “Talkin’ Loud And Sayin’ Somethin’” - better known amongst its patrons as simply “Dingwalls,” which was the name of the venue at the time in Camden, London - during the 1980s.
Gilles ran the label for over a decade with Paul Martin before he left the label in 2001.
Versions of the original releases were later re-released by parent label Mercury under the Talkin' Loud Classics branding.
