Zomba Label Group

Label group that was established in 2004. At that time, it included Arista, Jive, Verify, Violator, So So Def, Volcano and GospoCentric.
In 2004 the Zomba Label Group became part of Sony BMG Music Entertainment and was placed under the BMG Label Group in 2007. A year later, the Zomba Label Group became fully owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
As part of the BMG Music Group rebranding to RCA/Jive Label Group, Sony Music Entertainment renamed Zomba Label Group to Jive Label Group in 2009. The Jive Label Group existed until October 2011.

Legal name: Zomba Label Group, LLC

This is a umbrella company that has included many labels under it during its existence. As such, this label will likely not appear alone. Please make sure all labels that are present on the release are entered.

List of some labels that were part of the Zomba Label Group:
Battery Records (3)- (2008-2010) Formed in mid-2008 by Neil Levine and remained under Jive Label Group during the rebranding.
Jive - (2004-2010) - Zomba's flagship label and the namesake for the rebranding.
LaFace Records (2004-2011) - Had been defunct since 2001 but reactivated for with the creation of Zomba Label Group. Still active under Jive Label Group.
Silvertone Records (2004-2010) - A part of Zomba Label Group for the duration and is now a part of Jive Label Group.
So So Def (2005) - Briefly a part of Zomba Label Group before label owner Jermaine Dupri moved to Virgin. In 2009, Dupri moved back to Sony, ultimately becoming part of Jive Label Group again.
Volcano (2) (2004-2012) - A part of Zomba Label Group for the duration and is now a part of Jive Label Group.
Zomba Gospel LLC (2005-2007) - Created by Zomba Label Group in 2005 to control gospel labels. It was renamed Verity Gospel Music Group in 2007 and, under that name, is a part of Jive Label Group.
