Tropico
Label from Trinidad & Tobago. Originally active from the early 1960s to the mid 1970s as the successor to the RCA Victor label in Trinidad (manufactured by International Recording Co. Ltd.) The label was resurrected by WIRL Barbados in 1981 to reissue some classic calypso recordings, including the Mighty Sparrow's two US albums, which were out of print by then. Unused 7" label stock from Tropico was apparently sold to Jamaica and used for some unrelated issues.
