Capitol-EMI

The new classical line of Capitol-EMI was announced by Capitol Records in July 1958. An initial release of 16 albums on August 18 [1958], all newly recorded, come from the same source which heretofore supplied the His Master's Voice label, released in the USA by RCA Victor.

In the late 1950s Capitol Records, Inc. was releasing Classical under 3 labels:
1. Angel Records
2. Capitol Records
3. Capitol-EMI

How to determine if this label applies:
1. EMI-Capitol logo on front and/or back of sleeve
2. EMI-Capitol logo on labels.
3. G7100 & SG7100 lines
4. Only used in Canada and US from 1958 to 1960
Represses often drop the EMI logo from the front cover but still shows up on back and/or labels.
