Owned and operated by Markus 'Smudge' Byth in Aberdeen, Scotland. BWR is a DIY record label which focuses on the more extreme and experimental side of music. Mainly around the Doom, Drone, Noise, Black Metal and Ambient genres.
Starting life as a netlabel as a platform for releasing Dröne material but quickly expanded into releasing music by other artists including Sabazius, Clunge, The Salamander Institute, Mowlawner and On Earth.
BWR released its first physical CD-R release in 2009. Godvoice by Dröne on a limited run of hand made and hand numbered copies.
Now straying away from the netlabel aspect and focusing on physical releases.
