American R&B, soul and country label founded in 1946 by Jack and Devora Brown in Detroit, Michigan. Most of the label's releases were recorded at the in-house studio Fortune Recording Studio. Early releases were on 78 rpm only, with 45 rpm pressings starting around catalog #165 in 1952.
