Virgin Megastores (Label)

Virgin Megastores is a British international entertainment retail chain founded by Richard Branson, with the first shop launched in 1979 on Oxford Street in London. The company expanded globally throughout the 1990s, with hundreds of branded stores in the UK, France, Australia, USA, Japan, and other countries offering CDs, DVDs, concert tickets, T-shirts, books and magazines, and other similar merchandise. In the following two decades, Virgin Megastores downsized substantially and went defunct in all countries, except the Middle East and North Africa. Since 2015, Virgin Group still operates 40 retail locations under the "Virgin Megastore" brand in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Morocco (co-owned with regional financial and retail conglomerates).
