CIRPA

Originally established January 20, 1971 by Stan Klees as an informal collective in Toronto under the name Canadian Independent Record Producers' Association, it was formally incorporated on July 4, 1975 as Canadian Independent Record Production Association. Members include Canadian-owned record companies, record and music video producers, recording studios, music publishers, and music publicists as well as their representatives. It changed its name to Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) in 2009. From 1982 to 1986 CIRPA administered the FACTOR program.
