Karrierekanonen

Concept established in 2002 by Danish national broadcaster DR, Bandakademiet and Skanderborg Festival to promote and evolve upcoming talents on the Danish music scene.

Every week a new song by a Danish artist is selected as "Ugens Kanon" and receives airplay on Danish national radio DR P3 and P6 Beat.

Furthermore, each year twelve artists are selected by a jury to go through a talent evolution program, culminating with performances at the SPOT Festival in Aarhus. After the SPOT Festival, eight of the artists continue until the final that takes place at Skanderborg Festival. Finally, three winners are elected. They receive a tailored evolution program at Bandakademiet, their own performance at Skanderborg Festival the following year, and their music get airplay on national radio.

Artists that have been discovered via KarriereKanonen includes Klondyke, Tue West, Johnny Deluxe, Rasmus Nøhr, Marie Key Band, Magtens Korridorer, Vild $mith, The Minds of 99, and Katinka (3).
