Dharma Records

1970s label from Libertyville, Illinois, owned by brothers Rick and Perry Johnson (2).

The brothers also owned the Rainbow Bridge recording studio, housed in the same strip-mall building in Libertyville, and the Dog Ear Records retail chain. Around 1978 they bought Triad Radio (on WXFM/Chicago 105.9) and Triad Magazine. They sold the radio end to one of Triad's original founders (Don Bridges). They kept the free music magazine going for a few more years changing it from a glossy-covered saddle-stitched magazine to a fold-over newsprint format. Dharma Records was officially a division of Amalgamated Tulip, Inc.
