Founded and operated by archaeologist Kevin Wienke, to publish electroacoustic, field recordings, and other "found sound" releases in the ambient philosophy. Begun in 1998, the label was discontinued in 2009. For many years Alluvial Recordings was distributed by Manifold Records.
