Maraqopa Records
Label from Seattle, WA. Founded in 2021 by Damien Jurado to release his own records. Distributed by Redeye until 2023.
Label self-description: "Maraqopa Records is a boutique record label specializing in the music of Damien Jurado, and The Damien Jurado Assembly. All product is limited edition."
Since MQR0006, the pressings have been very limited. In some cases the limitation was not stated. If the print run was stated, then it was 200 for vinyl and 100 for CDrs. Contrary to this announcement, a second run of CDrs for ‘Motorcycle Madness’, ‘Passing The Giraffes’ and ‘Rogers Audition’ was available in June 2024.
Since MQR0006, the records have only been sold in the US via the artist's webshop, although there was a brief period in the summer of 2024 when they were sold worldwide.
Since MQR0008, releases are CDr only. Damien Jurado also anncounced that he will do no more full lenghth albums, but singles.
