Established in 1977, acquired by Arista in 1982, before being picked by the BMG Music Group (parent of Arista) in 2003; a year later, BMG was acquired by Sony. The Zomba label was folded in 2009, with its labels being reorganized under the RCA/Jive Label Group and its publishing division being folded by Universal Music Publishing.
Scott McLaughlin was A&R manager for the label.
