Stepheny Records

1950s-1960s label from Evanston, Illinois founded & owned by Norman Forgue.
The Stepheny label opened (on a boutique basis) in 1956, ramped up production in the summer of 1957, peaked in 1958, slid back down through 1960 (for singles). LPs started with a batch of 5 in May 1958; others were ready in 1958 but had to be held for release till 1959; the last few dribbled out, with the final LP probably appearing in 1962.
Norman Forgue named the company after his daughter, Stepheny Eveline Forgue.
