Prom

1950s-1960s label from Newark, New Jersey.

Prom Records was a small independent label that recorded their own studio musicians and contracted talents doing cover versions of the hits of the day.
The Prom label was affiliated with the more familiar label, Waldorf Music Hall. These labels evolved into Grand Award, whose sister label, Command Records, is prized by stereo collectors. The parent company was Synthetic Plastic Sales Corp. which also produced the Peter Pan record label. Many of these cover tunes are the same recordings and can be found on release from Promenade
