The record company began operations issuing Ariola & Arista releases to the Mexican market. In 1985 Bertelsmann AG acquired 100% of RCA from General Electric thus changing the previous Mexican office name RCA/Ariola Internacional, S. De R.L. De C.V, years before it had changed to Bertelsmann De Mexico, S.A. De C.V..
In 1987, the RCA, Arista, and Ariola labels were united to create Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG).
