French ambient and new age label/distributor. Created in 1995 by Jean-Patrick Teyssaire.
Origins has been focused through a long time on ambient and new age musics, throughs several thematic series (or "collections") of 16 albums each, which were mainly distributed in new age, nature or zen shops during the 1990-2000's.
Origins became a division of Terra Humana.
Since the 2010 years, Origins has expanded its catalogue to ethnical, folk or jazz musics, and sells its actual releases on its website, but not old back catalogue.
Many albums on the label have two catalogue numbers, one printed on back cover and another on the disc itself. The one on back cover is always indicated between the barcode and the price code. The price code always begins as OR 51X, OR 55X or OR 59X. This price code should not be confused with the main catalogue number, which begins most of the time by "000".
