Sheer Music was formed in 1997 as a dance imprint that later also ventured into pop/rock as well as house and hip-hop as part of the large and independent South African Sheer Group.
Under the helm of MD Mark Connor, it parted ways with the group in 2009 and rebranded itself Shelter Music.
