WAU! Mr. Modo Recordings

W·A·U! Mr. Modo Recordings was a partnership between Alex Paterson & Martin Glover (Youth)'s WAU Recordings Limited, of London, and Adam Morris's Modo (Records & Tapes) Limited, of Sheffield. "W·A·U" stands for "What About Us?" and Morris, a.k.a. Mr Modo, was Paterson's manager until Sep. 6, 1994. The partnership ended on Nov. 28, 1991, with an agreement that profits from past work would be split between the two companies. A related company, WAU! Mr. Modo Limited, incorporated 10 July 1990 and was dissolved 24 January 1995.

Recordings were licensed to Big Life, Gee Street, G-Zone, and M & G Records. Also after leaving 10 Records, System 7 released on Big Life, but the copyright was owned by Weird And Unconventional Records, a subsidiary of WAU! Mr. Modo. See also WAU! Mr. Modo and WAU! Mr. Modo Records, each credited as copyright owner on some releases; Inter-Modo, a short-lived successor label; and the Modo-free WAU Recordings label.
