Genlyd

Danish label established in Aarhus in 1974 by the band Gnags to self-release their second album Del Af En Ring. By the 1980's it had become one of the leading Danish labels with artists like Voxpop, Henning Stærk, Dieters Lieder, Mek Pek Party Band, Elisabeth (3), Thomas Helmig, and Lars Muhl, besides Gnags themselves. The underlying company was initially Genlyd Grammofon. From October 1988, Genlyd was a division of BMG Ariola A/S, their successors and since December 2008, Genlyd has been owned by Sony Music Entertainment Denmark A/S.
