Intolerance Records
"Intolerance for stupidity. Intolerance for ignorance. Intolerance for tyranny and injustice. Intolerance for the cookie cutter, sound alike bands making the music that the radio stations are paid to play. "
From our humble beginnings on a borrowed analog Tascam multitrack recorder in the basement of a Canal Fulton, Ohio Ranch-Style home in 1989, Intolerance Records has grown into one of the premier independent labels in the world. A virtual who's who of artists have performed at the Thanatron Studios at one time or another - Slugwrench, Duma Love (formerly of Cibo Matto), ^|SiCk0|^, DJ Korpserape of Wasteful Consumption Patterns, Wally Boy Wonder, Snareburst, Left Brain Project, Two Dead Roses, DJ Gagball, and Rowdy Gantz to name a few.
From the very beginning, our belief in the creative abilities of our artists and their need to expand the limits of their art form took precedence over a strict adherence to any narrowly defined musical idiom. As a result, our label's natural progression has been to release albums not only in the Experimental realm, but also in the fields of Rock, Hip Hop, Scratchtronica, and more. This philosophy has earned Intolerance a reputation for excellence not only through releases by some of the all-time greats, but also through recordings of the new generation of artists who are bringing these unique art forms well into the 21st century.
