Polystar Co.,Ltd.
Japanese record company established January 25, 1980 by Ken Hosokawa, as a joint-venture between Polygram and Young Japan Inc., a Japanese record production, music publishing and artist management firm. It was the third Polygram company in Japan, next to Nippon Phonogram Co., Ltd. and Polydor K.K.
Originally the company was to represent the Casablanca Records label in Japan. Prior to 1979 the Casablanca label was distributed by Victor Musical Industries, Inc.
Polystar is distributed by Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd. since 1999, before that, the label was distributed by Nippon Phonogram Co., Ltd. (1980-1987), Polydor K.K. (1987-1994), and Polygram K.K. (1994-1999).
