Top Rank International

Please use Top Rank if "International" doesn't appear on the release.

Label established by The Rank Organisation, the famed British film production company, in 1959 with Dick Rowe and Tony Hatch in charge. An American branch was launched one year later, headed by Bob Shad and later former Coral and Brunswick sales manager Norman Weinstroer. The label was not very successful in the US apart from recordings by Jack Scott and productions by Norman Petty. It had a jazz subsidiary, Jaro Records.

The UK label mainly released licensed material from smaller American labels (i.e. Cameo Parkway, Scepter Records, Swan) and light pop music; it was closed down in April 1962 after being distributed by EMI for two years.

Sometimes credited as "Rank International".

A New Zealand branch was taken over by Allied International Records Ltd..
