Sometimes appears as a label on self-released music they control the rights to (please beware that some such releases specifies Boosey & Hawkes Ltd and not conflate the two)
The company behind the imprint is one of the major international music publishers originated from the merger between Boosey & Co Ltd. (founded in the 1760s), and Hawkes & Son Ltd. (founded in 1865). The company focuses now solely on music publishing following the sale of the Instrument & label division.
Although Boosey & Hawkes Ltd is still going strong as a classical music publisher, the music from the SBH and Cavendish releases is now under the Cavendish Music imprint, which is now held by a separate company - Cavendish Music Co. Ltd.
