BUD-JET

1960s label from the American upper midwest.

Bud-Jet specialized in compilation albums comprised of tracks released on labels associated with Kay Bank.

Likely based in Minneapolis, Its business address is obscure (and it is defunct.) Artists featured were mostly upper midwest-based, and were never paid royalties for the use of their material. Indeed, the compilations themselves were priced rather low ("budget") and marketed through a retail network which distributed to pharmacies, automotive service stations, and retail discount chains.
