AOL
American internet company first formed in 1983 as Control Video Corporation, eventually becoming America Online (AOL) in 1989. It grew heavily in the '90s and became the largest online service in the United Sates, while eventually expanding to other countries. It now mainly exists as an online web portal, owned by Yahoo, Inc.
