Alexei Pliousnine - Musician, promoter, publicist, record collector, music therapist.

Since 2002 leading APosition Creative Union.

Since 2011 Alexey is doing projects, both therapeutical and artistic with neurologically different people. Working as music therapist in “Anton Tut Ryadom” Center for people with disabilities. During his work for “Anton Tut Ryadom” Center has established an inclusive orchestra with who is professionally performing and recording.

Participated several inclusive theatrical projects in collaboration with Big Drama Theatre BDT in St.Petersburg and Moscow’s Theatrical inclusive studio Krug 2. Was nominated to Golden Mask Theatrical Award twice.

Took part of Art in Antarctic international program by DNA institute (Buenos-Aires) visited Argentinian bases Marambio and Esperanza in Antarctica in order to make the project and make the film “Sound of Silence”. Alexei became the first Russian musician to be performing in Antarctica.

Alexey Plyusnin is an active writer and authored many articles on music, various essays; played several characters in various movies; received the Petropol Award and delivered at Pennsylvania State University, performed and gave a masterclass at Chicago State University. By the invitation from Sibelius Music Academy in Helsinki Alexey participated in Tulkinnanvaraista music series and gave a masterclass.

Since 2011 has established Diafragma records publishing different experimental projects on vinyl.

As musician: started his career in the mid 80-ies leading the punk rock band Lolita. Album “Moscow’s vacations” is in the top 100 Russian rock albums.
Since 90-ies participated in many different projects, including solo acts and collaborations with: Arthur Brown, Patti Smith, Peter Brotzman, Famoudou Don Moye, Brian Godding, David Murray, Keith Rowe, Phill Niblock, Shelley Hirsch, Burton Greene, Gary Lucas, Henry Kaiser, Borah Bergman, Lukas Ligeti, Charles Gayle, Tim Hodgkinson, Peter Principle, Tim Hodgkinson, Pierre Moerlen and many others. Toured in over the 20 countries all over the world.

As promoter organized over 50 festivals and other events in a last 30 years, including Sergey Kuryokhin International Festival (SKIF), including SKIF in Berlin, ProToArt, APositsia, Cosmonoise, Systo Togethering. Worked with world famous minimalist Terry Riley, legendary Polish prog rock band SBB, Marcus Stockhausen, Pierre Moerlen’s Gong, Hans Reichel, German krautrock pioneers Faust, Kimmo Pohjonen, Keith & Julia Tippett, Tenores di Bitti, Iranian classical collective by Reza Moafi, Han Bennink, Italian avant rock – free jazz combo Zu, Willem Broeker Kollektieff, Misha Mengelberg, Otomo Yoshihide, Eugene Chadbourne, mugam master from Azerbaijan Alim Kasymov, John Cale of Velvet Underground, Holger Czukay and Damo Suzuki from Can, Fred Frith of Henry Cow, Magma, Hamid Drake, William Parker, Gary Lucas from Captain Beefheart Magic Band, Deep Listening founder composer Pauline Oliveros, Sainkho Namchylak, Lukas Ligeti, royal Korean ensemble Ge Um Hwe, Rhys Chatham, Mia Masaoka, Phill Niblock by the names of few.
