Orient Record

A Japanese label. Established in 1907 by 東洋蓄音器 (Tōyō Chikuonki), survived until 1932.
Transition of parent company:
1907: 東洋蓄音器商會 (Tōyō Chikuonki Shōkai) - Founded by 福永孝蔵 (Kōzō Fukunaga) around 1907. It began manufacturing records in 1909.
1912: 東洋蓄音器株式會社 (Tōyō Chikuonki Kabushikigaisha) - Established in July 1912 and dissolved on July 29, 1917. In 1916, due to poor performance, the main factory was leased to the company mentioned below (effectively withdrawing from record production).
1916: 東洋蓄音器合資會社 (Tōyō Chikuonki Gōshigaisha) - Formerly known as 合資会社京都興業商会 (established in 1914). This company had previously operated the Uguisu Record. The company changed its name in February 1916 and began manufacturing Orient Record in March.
1919 to 1932: 株式會社日本蓄音器商會 (Nipponophone Co. Ltd.) - Merged with 東洋蓄音器合資會社 in November 30, 1919. Orient was treated as a budget label by Nipponophone. The Orient Records trademark was discontinued at the end of 1932, and Regal appeared as a budget label from January 1933.
