Midsummer Madness
midsummer madness (all lowercased) started as a fanzine in 1989, focusing on Brazilian independent bands.
In 1991, a compilation homemade cassette titled "Raw" was released with edition 4 of the fanzine. It featured songs from Second Come and Killing Chainsaw's tapes, plus a mixtape with Jesus & Mary Chain, Velvet Underground and The Telescopes songs.
Home-made cassette #2 came out in 1993, titled "Slowly Making You Want It", attached to edition #6 of the fanzine.
In 1994 they debuted as a cassette label with Drivellers' second demo tape, "Cachorrona" and The Cigarettes' "Felicia + Foolish Things and Blah Blah Blah" following a few months later.
The first CDs came out in 1997: The Cigarettes debut "Bingo" and Pelvs second album "Members to Sunna".
The label keeps three different catalogues:
- cassettes with 153 releases (July/2018) including cassette, CDR and digital formats
- albums with 58 releases (July/2018) including CDs and vinyls
- singles with 42 releases (July 2018) all digital
