Irish Traditional Music Archive
ITMA, located in Dublin. Taisce Cheol Dúchais Éireann
"The Archive arose directly from a proposal to the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon in 1987 made by Harry Bradshaw and Nicholas Carolan to preserve historic sound recordings of Irish traditional music." One of its aims is: "To collect all the materials of Irish traditional music and to make a representative collection of the traditional music of other countries. It does this through the donation, copying and purchase of materials, and by a programme of audio and video recording in the field and in the Archive’s recording studio."
