Novem was founded after Guy Cloutier , president of Les Productions Guy Cloutier was arrested for sexual abuse. His daughter , Véronique Cloutier , who was vice president of Les Productions Guy Cloutier at the time , had the difficult task to take over the company and save it from the shame that its former president had brought upon it; his sexual abuses were committed against the singer Nathalie Simard when she was a minor and Guy Cloutier's protegé ! A very messy case ending up with Guy Cloutier doing time in jail and the company being shut down as a result .
