Ruff Definition Records was the Brainchild of producer Lee Fredericks who upon a meeting with Grant Nelson (Nice & Ripe) was introduced to Grant's financial partner at the time George Power. George ran FX Promotions as they were known which was the manufacturing company for all of their labels. Lee was asked to record for their one of labels but wanted to record a darker, tribalesque sound, different to that of their labels. Ruff Def was born and 8 releases were put out over an 18 month period c/o Lee, Scott Latham and their friends and recording cohorts.
