Established in 1987 as the special projects division of Carson, California-based Books Nippan, U.S. Renditions was instrumental in licensing dozens of Japanese anime and manga franchises and standalone titles for further localization, especially as it pertained to the English language market, and the North American market in particular.
These projects would span a wide range of published mediums, and included many partnerships with similar, Anglophonic companies.
U.S. Renditions was dissolved in approximately 1995, as Books Nippan itself had begun to cease North American operations.
