Апрелевский Завод Грампластинок (in English: Aprelevka Record Factory) was a vinyl manufacturing plant in Aprelevka, Moscow region. Established in 1910.
In 1964 Мелодия was founded and the plant (together with the other main plants in the USSR, see label page) entered the structure of the label.
In 1971 the plant was officially renamed It is recommended to mention this title variation in notes to indicate a unique release.
After 1991 Мелодия was falling apart and the plant gained independence. Some later "Aprelevka" entered with (Rostov cassettes plant) into the production association: Апрелевский Завод Грампластинок - Ростовский Завод Магнитофонных Кассет. Some time in 1992 it was an independent label - Апрелевский Ордена Ленина Завод Грампластинок. Between end of 1992 until May 23, 1995 it was part of the Russian-American In October 1994, the plant was corporatized and began to run the The last vinyl press was made in 1997.
The company went bankrupt in 2002.

For releases before 1964 with the "АЗ" or "Апрелевский Завод" logos please use Апрелевский Завод label.

NOTE: some early pressings and labels of Мелодия (from 1964 on) might only show "Апрелевский Завод", nevertheless, within the Мелодия structure it is always Апрелевский Завод Грампластинок!
