Australian Mushroom Distribution Services company was established in 1989 under the direction of Scott Murphy to develop local artists, and import alternative and dance acts from overseas.
In October 1999 it was merged into Mushroom Records Pty Ltd., and shortly after, Mushroom amalgamated with Festival Records Pty Ltd to form Festival Mushroom Records.
